Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery in a fast-paced clinical environment. Ensure patient stability through vigilant monitoring and advanced critical care skills, supporting optimal recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients in Phase I and Phase II recovery, including incision sites, vital signs, and temperature.
• Administer medications and treatments utilizing equipment such as PCA pumps, Braun IV pumps, and Cryocuff devices.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to identify and address patient complications promptly.
• Document patient progress accurately in electronic medical records and communicate effectively with healthcare staff.
• Maintain proficiency with unit-specific equipment and adhere to clinical protocols and safety standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and flexible scheduling based on unit needs.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid professional RN license within the state of practice.
• Possess a minimum of 2+ years' experience as a critical care RN in ER or ICU settings; relevant surgical or critical care experience preferred.
• Obtain and maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• PALS certification is recommended or required depending on position.
• Demonstrate proficiency with medical equipment such as Meditech, PCA pumps, and HP monitors.
• Ability to think critically and act swiftly in high-pressure situations.
