JR82710 Registered Nurse - Cardiac Direct Access Unit/CDAc- BIDMC 24hr Rotating shift

The Cardiology Direct Access unit (CDAc) provides efficient and effective moderate intensity cardiovascular care to patients requiring cardiac evaluation & monitoring, cardiology post‑procedure patients, and heart failure patients. Our hybrid department includes an ambulatory section that offers same‑day outpatient cardiologist assessments as well as cardiology ambulatory care for Heart Failure and Structural Heart program patients. The patient care areas include six (6) cardiac observation beds, exam rooms for urgent outpatient evaluations and diagnostic testing services. A dynamic pairing, the clinical staff have responsibilities & assignments in each area with regular scheduling and assignment in the Observation Unit. Working closely with attending physicians, nurse practitioners and clinical nurse colleagues, the staff nurses’ primary responsibilities are in planning, developing and providing highly coordinated nursing care to cardiovascular patients. Qualifications Cardiac or telemetry nursing experience. Comfortable in moderate‑acuity, fast‑moving environments. Ability to pivot between inpatient‑style and outpatient workflows. Strong care coordination and communication skills. Value collaborative, interdisciplinary practice. Responsibilities Provide direct care to patients and make necessary nursing judgments, systematically assessing health care needs of individuals or groups. Formulate, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Coordinate patient care and direct assistive personnel to provide safe, effective, timely, patient‑centered care. Demonstrate awareness of environmental forces on patient health and identify resources necessary to implement the plan of care. Work collaboratively with other health professionals to determine healthcare needs and develop relationships with patients and families that maintain trust and respect. Communicate effectively in the exchange of information and act as a patient advocate. Maintain annual mandatory education requirements, including emergency skills and unit‑based competencies. Identify needs for continued growth and development in conjunction with the unit‑based educator or clinical nurse specialist. Participate in activities that contribute to professional development and quality improvement. Demonstrate a commitment to patients, staff, and to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, reflecting the goals of the Medical Center and maintaining responsibility and accountability for own nursing practice and patient safety. Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred. 1–3 years related work experience required. Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse license required. Basic Life Support certificate required. Compensation $38.00 – $98.19 per hour. The pay range is the base hourly wage the organization reasonably expects to pay at this time. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on seniority, education, training, relevant experience, certifications, geography, job responsibilities, shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other applicable pay practices.
