Senior Staff AccountantFLSA: Non-ExemptREPORTS TO: ControllerHOURS: Full time, Monday thru Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; Overtime as needed. Job Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant ensures accurate and timely financial and cost reporting, analysis, and audit preparation, and liaises with program directors for multiple entities of Liberty ARC. Job Qualifications:Bachelor 's Degree in Accounting or a business related field is required.Two years of related experience is required.Non-profit experience preferred.Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as general office skills. Must be able to read and write the English language.Valid NYS Driver's License that meets agency standards and reliable transportation.  Major Responsibilities:Ensure accurate and timely journal entries, allocations, and financial statement reporting.Perform account reconciliations according to established standards.Produce financial statement and variance analysis, and conduct financial review meetings with program directors.Act as a fiscal liaison to assigned departments in proactively providing financial data for effective management decision making.Develop and distribute budgets and financial forecasts. Perform annual audit preparation as assigned.Prepare cost reports in a timely and accurate manner.Meet all Agency, Federal, State, and County Reporting requirements as established.Perform special projects as assigned.Disclaimer – The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
