ABAP Consultant Project IPT

Location: San Antonio, TX (Must work onsite Monday – Friday)

Duration: 9 month contract initially

Project Description: The purpose of this project (IPT Barge Planning & Scheduling) is to optimize barge management and reduce secondary costs associated with non-optimized barge utilization as well as implement an integrated solution to help support communication between barge scheduling, supply scheduling and trading.

Required Skills:

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, MVC and data modeling concepts.
• Experience in working with S4 Hana, OData and CDS views.
• Strong full lifecycle ABAP custom development skills including enhancement framework/BADI/BAPI.
• Ability to take high-level functional design documents and develop ABAP solutions independently.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in delivering complex ABAP developments independently.
• Experience extending and integrating new solutions with pre-existing custom solutions.
• Familiarity with new S/4HANA coding syntax and best practices.

Deliverables:

• Demonstrate flexibility in working across different technical and functional domains.
• Work with technical team on design and analysis of solutions.
• Work with functional team members of the project to develop solutions as prioritized by the project team.
• Resolve system defects raised by the project team during the testing phase.
• Precise and timely communication with the project team.
• Gain and maintain a good understanding of the solution's application architecture and database structure.
• Adhere to Valero standards of development.
• Follow the Valero change management process for application deployment.
