In this role, you will be a key driver of operational efficiency, ensuring that our production capabilities align perfectly with customer demand while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Role The Senior Production Planner is responsible for managing end‑to‑end MRP processes, ensuring the timely execution of work orders and supplier purchase orders. You will hold accountability for optimizing the balance between supply and demand, resolving bottlenecks, and leading cross‑functional efforts to improve delivery performance. This role requires a blend of high‑level analytical thinking and hands‑on leadership, including the supervision of materials and logistics areas and providing data‑driven insights to the executive leadership team. Key Responsibilities MRP Management: Oversee MRP planner codes to ensure accurate work order releases and a seamless production flow. Operational Alignment: Continuously monitor outputs to identify and resolve supply/demand imbalances, ensuring uninterrupted operations. Performance Improvement: Lead root‑cause analysis for delivery delays and implement corrective actions to boost on‑time delivery (OTD) performance. Capacity Planning: Manage equipment and line‑level capacity planning to optimize resource utilization and scheduling. Strategic Collaboration: Coordinate new product launch builds with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams. Leadership & Influence: Act as a key influencer in cross‑functional meetings, providing thought leadership on process optimization and resource trade‑offs. Reporting & Analytics: Analyze and present key metrics (OTD, inventory turns, backorders) to management, offering data‑driven recommendations for growth. Area Supervision: Provide oversight for materials and shipping/logistics functions to ensure workflow consistency. Requirements & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 6+ years of total experience within a Supply Chain environment. 4+ years of proven success in Production Planning and Purchasing. 4+ years of hands‑on experience with ERP/MRP systems. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency is required; experience with specialized planning tools is . Analytical Ability: Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to make informed, high‑pressure decisions using standardized data. Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders and present clearly to leadership. Mindset: A proactive, detail‑oriented approach with the ability to anticipate production hurdles before they occur. Certification: APICS (CPIM/CSCP) certification is considered a significant plus.
