At American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO), we’re looking for experienced Crane & Hoist Service Technicians to support customers throughout the Chandler, AZ or Phoenix, AZ region and surrounding areas. This is a field-based position where technicians are primarily dispatched directly from their local area rather than reporting daily to a branch location. Candidates should be based within or near the Chandler, Phoenix, AZ area and comfortable supporting customer sites throughout the region. While much of the work is local or regional, this role also includes the expectation of periodic travel assignments. Technicians should be open to supporting projects outside their immediate territory for extended periods when business needs require it. Depending on workload and project demands, travel assignments may total up to approximately 3 months within a 12-month period. This is not a shop role sitting under constant supervision. This is field service work where you are trusted to diagnose problems, make decisions, and represent ACECO directly with customers. You won’t be just another tech number here. What This Role Really Is This is a field-based service role—you’ll spend most of your time traveling to customer sites, diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and being accountable for getting equipment safely back into operation with minimal supervision. Successful technicians in this role are self-directed, safety-focused, mechanically capable, and comfortable operating independently in industrial environments where uptime and customer responsiveness matter. Who Thrives Here (and Who Doesn’t) You’ll do well here if you: Take ownership of field work and solve problems without being told what to do Are comfortable working independently in customer environments Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal teams This role is likely not a fit if you: Prefer working in a shop or controlled environment Need constant direction or supervision Struggle with travel, on-call responsibilities, or customer-facing work What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days) Learn ACECO service standards, safety expectations, and documentation processes Independently complete inspections, maintenance, and basic repairs Build trust with customers through professionalism and technical competence Accurately document service work and communicate findings Begin handling more complex troubleshooting scenarios independently Field Impact – Your work directly affects customer safety and equipment uptime Autonomy – Work independently with strong internal support Technical Growth – Work on complex industrial and nuclear lifting equipment that many technicians never get exposure to Stability – Established company with long-term workforce and strong reputation What You’ll Do Field Service & Technical Work Travel to customer sites to perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs Service electric overhead cranes and hoists (mechanical and electrical systems) Troubleshoot and repair 480 VAC / 3-phase electrical systems Perform work independently while adhering to all safety and quality standards Customer Interaction & Communication Communicate clearly with customers, supervisors, and internal teams Represent ACECO professionally at all job sites Provide clear updates and recommendations based on equipment condition Documentation & Reporting Complete accurate service reports and documentation Track work performed, findings, and follow-up needs Maintain accountability for service quality and reporting accuracy On-Call & Travel Responsibilities Participate in on-call rotation Travel locally, regionally, and/or nationally as required Support urgent customer needs when necessary What We’re Looking For Education High school diploma or GED required Technical or trade certifications preferred Experience 3-5+ years of hands‑on experience servicing electric overhead cranes and hoists strongly preferred Strong field service experience in industrial environments Technical Skills Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (480 VAC / 3-phase systems) Solid mechanical troubleshooting and repair capability Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout, and fall protection Skills & Attributes Ability to work independently with minimal supervision High attention to detail and follow-through Reliable, accountable, and self‑directed Alignment with ACECO values: Work Hard, Have Fun, and Do the Right Thing
