Substitute Bus Driver

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to fill the position of Substitute Bus Driver at our Bus Garage/Transportation facility. This is a part-time job that requires flexibility and availability to work on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a school bus on assigned routes or trips as a substitute driver
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safe operation
• Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents as needed
• Follow all district policies and procedures related to student transportation
• Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to the Transportation Supervisor immediately
• Attend required training sessions and meetings as directed by the Transportation Supervisor
• Maintain proper license and endorsements and pass DTO physical and random drug testing per DOT regulations

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• CDL Class B with P and S endorsements preferred, but not required. We will pay for your training and assist you with getting your CDL.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Terms of Employment:

Sub positions are at will employees, contingent upon passing post-offer background checks.
