The Registered Nurse focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are essential responsibilities. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education is crucial. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of a recognized model of care is fundamental. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Focus on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction is important. The RN applies their educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is a key responsibility of the RN. Job Responsibilities: - Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. - Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. - Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. - Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. - Collaborates with patients/families and interdisciplinary services. - Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patient/family. - Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. - Facilitates, coordinates, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs. - Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. - Functions as a mentor/preceptor. - Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. - Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. - Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. - Implements practice changes. - Complies with regulatory standards. - Participates in a governance model.
