About the Job Part‑time, day shift (9:00 am–2:30 pm) for August–May. Starts immediately. Salary $16.95 per hour. No nights or weekends. High‑school diploma or equivalent required. Food service and customer service experience is preferred. Key Responsibilities Food preparation, portioning and service to children and staff. Proper operation of commercial kitchen equipment. Maintain clean, organized tools and work area. Cashiering and maintaining accurate records of payments. Cleanup duties: washing pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Arrange tables and decorations. Compile and maintain records of food and beverage use and expenditures. Plan or assist with meeting special dietary or nutritional restrictions of students. Take inventory of supplies and equipment and notify cafeteria personnel of shortages. Train or assist in training of new employees. Adhere to all federal and state USDA regulations and local food codes. Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by Superintendent, Principal or other supervisors. Flexible days based on school needs. Education & Certification High‑school degree or GED preferred. Possess required Food Handler’s permit and any other required certification and training. Prior food service, customer service or cash handling experience preferred. Reports To FANS Director / Head Cook. Physical Requirements Walking, standing and sprinting/running for short periods. Bending or twisting at the neck or trunk, squatting/kneeling, reaching above the head and forward. Repetitive hand, arm or finger motions (typing, data entry). Manual dexterity for cooking tasks and handling small utensils. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, with occasional requirement to lift heavier items. Manual handling of items weighing up to 90 pounds in short bursts, or carrying up to 90 pounds. Job Requirements Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
