Job Title: Quality Control Technician | Location: Sparta | Department: Quality Control | Reports To: Quality Manager | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Are you passionate about precision, problem-solving, and ensuring products meet the highest standards? TACO Metals is looking for a driven Quality Control Technician to join our Sparta team and play a key role in maintaining and improving product quality across our operations. What You’ll Do As a Quality Control Technician, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally to ensure quality standards are established, maintained, and consistently followed. You’ll be a technical resource within our Quality team—supporting inspections, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Conduct inspections, testing, measurements, and evaluations of manufactured products to engineering and customer specifications Identify and document nonconforming products; place items on hold and escalation concerns for review and disposition Collect data and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation within company systems Communicate findings, trends, and improvement recommendations to management Support internal and external quality inquiries as directed Prepare and present reports summarizing quality activities and results Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment You’ll provide data-driven insights to support decision-making while working closely with Quality leadership and other departments. Experience & Knowledge Minimum 2 years of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred) Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods Experience collecting and analyzing inspection data Strong blueprint reading skills and manufacturing/inspection-related math skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Technical Skills Calipers Micrometers Height gages Surface plates Bore gauges Dial indicators Radius gages Protractors Profilometers Soft Skills Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities High attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Work Environment & Physical Requirements Combination of desk work and time on the manufacturing floor Continuous interaction with team members across departments Ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift experience is a plus) Visual acuity for reading blueprints, analyzing data, and performing detailed inspections Why TACO Metals?
