Environmental Program Specialist

We are hiring an Environmental Program Specialist for one of our clients in Trenton, NJ .

Job Description:

• Program Outreach: Contact public water systems to provide information and assistance regarding infrastructure financing; facilitate the collection, verification, and submission of system data for the EPA's Drinking Water Infrastructure Needs Survey (DWINSA)
• Compliance Support: Help meet EPA reporting mandates and guide project submissions through the State Revolving Fund Process
• Grants & Surveys: Assist in the completing and processing of grant applications and administering federal grants
• Data & Studies: Plan and conduct surveys and data collection to evaluate community infrastructure needs
• Administrative Tasks: Perform routine clerical work, manage digital files, and route information according to department regulations
• Communication: Answer phone calls and emails professionally, take accurate messages, and handle general inquiries.

Skills required:

• Strong communication, data management and organizational skills are required.
• Willingness and capability to learn specialized environmental database programs and software
• Seeking a motivated, entry-level Environmental Specialist for a 6-12 month project focused on water infrastructure funding and compliance.
• In this role you will support the Drinking Water State Revolving Find (DWSRG) Program by processing grant application, conducting community outreach, and assisting with EPA reporting.
• The position combines environmental program support with essential administrative and clerical functions.
• Microsoft 365, NJEMS, EXCEL

Education required:

• BS in Science/Environmental fields

Work hours:

• 8:00 am 4:pm or 9:00 5:00
• Lunch (unpaid) :30 minutes
