Payroll Clerk PositionThis payroll clerk position is in Freeport, TX. Work schedule is Monday thru Thursday from 6:30AM to 5:00PM. Overtime and weekend work as needed.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:Knowledge of payroll processes required.Distribute, collect, and review timesheets. Verify hours worked, overtime, and leave time.Update and maintain accurate employee records.Compile payroll summaries and other reports as requested.Strong familiarity with spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and payroll/accounting software.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with job site, co-workers, and project management.Accounts payable knowledge. For example, matching of invoices, receivers, and purchase orders.Reply to assigned queries correctly, efficiently and communicates in a timely manner.Complete special projects as required by manager.General office skills.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsRequirements include:Must have high school diploma or equivalentMinimum of three years related payroll processing experience.Strict adherence to ethical standards when handling sensitive financial and personal employee data.Solid working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office productsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience using general office equipment and computer programsDeadline drivenQualificationsPreferred qualifications include:Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field.Minimum of three years related payroll processing experience.Advanced proficiency in MS ExcelAdaptable and works well in a fast-paced environmentExperience working in the chemical refining industryZACHRY is dedicated to providing a Safe and Drug-Free work environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
