Mid-Continent Group is accepting resumes for Underwriting Internship candidates starting employment in May through the summer of 2027 with a hybrid work schedule in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Underwriting Internship program includes a combination of activities aimed at giving the intern a full understanding of the Underwriting department and how they interact with other functions within the organization. The program is a potential pathway to a career in insurance. Internships typically consist of a 10-week period over the summer. Responsibilities Within the Underwriting team, interns will obtain experience in a variety of underwriting functions, including evaluating and analyzing risk of applicants, insureds, and books of business. Assist underwriters in evaluating and analyzing risk for commercial general liability insurance policies. Conduct research on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor analysis. Support the preparation of underwriting reports and documentation. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on risk assessment and policy development. Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information for underwriting decisions. Assist in the review and processing of insurance applications and renewals. Learn and utilize underwriting software and tools to support daily tasks.
