Registered Nurse Critical Care Float Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Registered Nurse Critical Care Float. In this role, the successful candidate serves as the Registered Professional Staff Nurse (RN) responsible for nursing care and outcomes for a group of patients over a designated time frame. The RN provides care via the nursing process in collaboration with other members of the health team. Job Responsibilities Performs other duties aligned with the mission and values of the organization. Demonstrates personal accountability for own professional practice and professional growth. Documents patient assessment, reassessment, progress toward goal achievement, and all required documentation accurately and timely. Promotes patient safety and quality, including adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals. Communicates and collaborates effectively with members of the health care team, escalating situations appropriately. Establishes effective caring relationships with staff, patients, families, and other members of the health care team. Administers medication and parenteral therapy in accordance with policy and procedure, including blood administration. Establishes priorities for patient care delivery and uses critical thinking skills to coordinate and complete patient care responsibilities independently or by appropriately delegating. Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning, utilizing resources and considering patient/family readiness, barriers, and alternatives. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and age‑related criteria pertinent to the patients served in the assigned area. Minimum Qualifications Must be a graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program, hold a Registered Nurse License in NYS, and possess a BLS Certification. Required Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse License – NYS Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required within 6 months Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – required within 1 year NIHSS and 8 hours of Stroke education – required Preferred Qualifications 2 years of Critical Care or ED experience preferred. In lieu of Critical Care or ED experience, a minimum of 2 years Progressive/Intermediate care experience will be considered. In lieu of Progressive/Intermediate Care experience, a minimum of 2 years Med/Surg experience will be considered. Specialty certification preferred. Basic Clinical Laryngoscopy (BCLS) – preferred. Qualifications Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Salary and Benefits The salary range for the role is $102,063.00 – $132,063.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
