Youll be responsible for safely operating company vehicles to and from job sites, while also working alongside the crew as a hands-on groundsperson. This role requires a valid Class A CDL, a clean driving record, and a genuine passion for tree care and safety. At A Plus Tree, safety is our number one priority on the road and on the job site./ph3What Youll Do/h3pstrongDriving Vehicle Operations:/strong/pulliOperate Class A commercial vehicles including chip trucks, log trucks, flatbeds, and equipment trailers to and from job sites/liliPerform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards/liliService and maintain assigned trucks and equipment; keep vehicles clean and in orderly condition at all times/liliReport any need for vehicle or equipment repairs to the crew leader immediately/liliEnsure trucks and equipment are properly secured while on job sites/liliReport all accidents, damage, or malfunctions to management immediately/liliOperate all vehicles in a safe, courteous manner and in full accordance with company safety policy/liliComplete all DOT requirements including driver logs and hours of service compliance/li/ulpstrongGround Operations Job Site Support:/strong/pulliWork as an active groundsperson on job sites assisting with tree removals, pruning, rigging, and debris disposal/liliUnload, lay out, prepare, and stow materials, tools, and equipment at the work site/liliOperate chippers, stump grinders, log movers, hand saws, pole saws, and chainsaws safely and as directed/liliSafeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area/liliMaintain clear voice communication with workers aloft throughout job operations/liliPerform breakdown and clean-up duties at the work site upon job completion/liliCommunicate with clients throughout the job using the job checklist; report any customer concerns or property damage to the supervisor immediately/liliParticipate in weekly safety meetings and daily job briefings/liliAdhere to all industry and company safety standards, PPE requirements, and ANSI Z133 guidelines/liliFollow daily work instructions efficiently and carry out verbal and written instructions accurately/liliAll other duties as assigned by the supervisor/li/ulh3What You Bring/h3pstrongRequired:/strong/pulliValid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Air Brake endorsement/liliMinimum 3 years of consistent commercial driving experience/liliClean driving record MVR will be verified; no major violations within the past 60 months/liliFull DOT compliance driver logs, HOS rules, and pre/post-trip inspections/liliAbility to lift 75+ lbs. and perform physical labor as a groundsperson throughout the workday/liliStrong communication skills with crew, supervisors, and clients/liliReliable, punctual, and hardworking a true team player/liliMust be at least 21 years of age to operate company vehicles/liliAvailability for early start times, overtime, and occasional weekend work/li/ulpstrongPreferred:/strong/pulliPrevious experience as a CDL driver in tree care, landscaping, or construction/liliExperience operating chippers, stump grinders, or log movers/liliFamiliarity with job site safety practices and traffic control/liliHigh school diploma or GED/liliBilingual (English/Spanish)/li/ulh3Work Environment/h3ulliOutdoor and road-based work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain/liliAbility to work near energized power lines, poisonous plants, and noxious vegetation/liliAbility to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and ragweed, insects such as bees and spiders, and reptiles such as lizards and snakes/liliWork near active utility lines, automotive traffic, mechanical equipment, noise, and airborne debris/liliWork near active job sites with chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and ground crews/liliRequired PPE: safety vest, hard hat, eye protection, gloves, ear plugs, etc./liliWilling to work weekends and overtime/liliOpen to travel assignments/li/ulh3What We Offer/h3ulli$20$35/hr based on experience/liliHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance | Paid sick leave | 401(k)/liliUniforms and PPE provided | Overtime opportunities | Bonus eligible | Employee Referral Bonus/liliOngoing training and career advancement with an industry leader/li/ulpApplicants must be 21 or older to operate company vehicles./ppEqual Opportunity Employer/ppA Plus Tree provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants and prohibits discrimination or harassment of any kind based on protected characteristics under federal, state, or local law.
