Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices. Prefer up-to-date or ability to obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)/restraint certification and current first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training certification. A valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL), passenger “P”, and school bus “S” driver license endorsement. REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator JOB GOAL: Under the direction of the Transportation Coordinator, plan, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate Transportation processes, systems and databases, collect and analyze information to support the goals of the Transportation Department. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES: Manages DPS/DOT files to meet compliance with all state/federal requirements. Manages the random drug/alcohol screening process and tracking to meet compliance with all state/federal requirements. Manages personnel files to meet all District, state and federal requirements. Analyzes the information to make recommendations for training content and dates. Supports the Coordinator with the processing of all new hires. Maintains a current list of qualified McKinney-Vento students for the purpose of tracking and processes invoices for accounts payable/billing. Provides information to parents and staff regarding student transportation issues, bus schedules, etc. Supports the Coordinator in the dissemination, collection, and recording of information and employee participation in the Maricopa County Trip Reduction Program. Analyzes the data and makes recommendations to increase participation or to support the improvement of the trip reduction program. Prepares purchase orders and processes quotes and invoices. Analyzes amounts in PO’s, performance of and prices with vendors to make recommendations to move money and/or recommend what/where to purchase products/services used within the department. Maintains supply inventory for the Transportation Department. Prepares personnel action requests. Maintains and processes department employee time keeping. Maintains and processes mileage and field trip invoices for billing and records. Maintains student ridership reports. Supports the Coordinator with the compiling of information, extracting data and preparing statistical reports relating to transportation services to supervisor. Uses radio and telephone to assist in dispatching drivers. Operates District buses and white fleet vehicles. Maintains a current working knowledge of transportation issues, including routes, schedule, policies and safety procedures. Analyzes data to make recommendations related to staffing or efficiencies. Performs routine clerical duties and other job duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES: Perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios. TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and District software, and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software). Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones. Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including routing and student management systems, security and fire alarm systems.
