Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) for an Operating Room (OR) position in Polson, Montana. The role involves working in various surgical departments, including Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Preoperative (Preop), and Operating Room settings, supporting a critical access hospital with 22 beds. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Polson, Montana
• Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per shift; 4 days per week, 10-hour days may be possible
• Certifications: Valid Montana or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license, ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)*, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Education/Experience: 0 years of experience required; 2 years preferred, with experience in operating room procedures and certifications as noted
• Special Procedures & Skills: Experience with abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, blood administration, adult dentistry, ambulatory OR, appendectomy, arthroscopy, bilateral tubal ligation, C-sections, cardiac monitoring, colonoscopy, conscious sedation monitoring, Dilation & Curettage, endoscopy, laser safety, laparoscopic procedures, malignant hyperthermia preparedness, total joint replacement, wound management, and more
• Patient Age Groups: Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Additional Information: Must be well-rounded in surgical services with the ability to follow a patient through preoperative to discharge, flexible to work in various surgical departments within a critical access hospital setting, and able to circulate in C-section procedures with a hard stop.
• Float & On-Call: Float within surgical services and assist other departments as needed; on-call required with variable weekend and night shifts (8 shifts/month).
• Scheduling and Other Notes: The position includes all areas within the surgery department (Pre/Post-op, Circulating, PACU, Endoscopy). The position is flexible with potential for 10-hour shifts.
• Compliance & Submission: Candidates must have worked previously at a Providence facility (or equivalent) and include references covering at least 1 year within the past 3 years. All submission requests for time off or special scheduling must be made upfront. RTO approval is contingent upon prior approval and is not guaranteed.
