Job Description And Duties The Information Technology Specialist I will perform technological assignments related to the Software Engineering domain and the administration of the fiscal systems for the Department of Justice (DOJ). Incumbent is responsible for design, development, testing, maintenance, and problem resolution of systems and subsystems including FI$Cal implementation. The incumbent works with Fiscal Systems Unit staff and provides guidance and recommendations on the impacts of new systems and designs solutions to support DOJ’s mission, while advising management on fiscal systems, applications, databases, interfaces and other technical issues. This range shall apply to persons who meet the Minimum Qualifications for the classification and who have also completed four years of satisfactory additional experience performing duties equivalent to or higher than an Information Technology Specialist I.: When the requirements for the criteria are met and upon recommendation of the appointing power, the employee shall receive a rate under the provisions of California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 599.676. Upon movement to Range C, the employee shall receive a rate under the provisions of California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 599.674 shall apply.
