Clinical Director

IN-PERSON ROLE ONLY - DO NOT APPLY FOR VIRTUAL Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year Competitive salary: $80,000 – $120,000 annually, based on experience, with growth and bonus potential Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM Position Overview The Clinical Director provides strong clinical leadership, oversight, and accountability for Mental Health and/or Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programming at the PHP/IOP level (and RTC if applicable). This role ensures high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and effective supervision of clinical staff while maintaining alignment with payer and accreditation standards. Candidates must be able to legally provide clinical supervision in the state of California at the time of hire. Core Responsibilities Oversee all clinical operations for PHP/IOP (and RTC if applicable) programs Provide direct clinical services as needed, including facilitating group sessions and maintaining a small caseload Supervise licensed clinicians, associates, and student interns Provide clinical supervision and sign off on documentation for associates and trainees in accordance with state regulations Ensure all documentation meets medical necessity, compliance, and timeliness standards Support utilization review and insurance-related clinical processes Collaborate with executive leadership, psychiatry, program staff, case management, and admissions Maintain a small caseload and/or facilitate group sessions as needed to support program operations Maintain and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and quality standards Address clinical risk, staff performance, and overall program integrity Support audits, accreditation processes, and payer reviews Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted California clinical license (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Psychologist, or equivalent) Must meet all qualifications to provide clinical supervision and sign off on associate and trainee documentation Minimum 1–2 years of treatment center experience required (mental health or SUD/addiction), with SUD/addiction treatment experience strongly preferred Minimum 2–3 years of proven leadership or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of clinical documentation standards, medical necessity, and compliance requirements Ability to lead, support, and hold clinical staff accountable Experience working within interdisciplinary teams Preferred Qualifications Experience in KIPU EMR highly preferred Experience with audits, accreditation, and payer expectations Additional Requirements Must be able to provide 3 professional references , including at least 2 from previous employers Must be able to work on-site consistently Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills are essential This role requires both clinical leadership and direct client care responsibilities Candidates must be comfortable balancing administrative oversight with hands-on clinical work Success in This Role Looks Like Clinical team is consistently meeting documentation and compliance standards Strong staff retention and accountability within the clinical team Programs are operating smoothly with clear structure and leadership Positive outcomes in audits, utilization review, and payer feedback Application Question(s) Are you a licensed clinician (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD), currently eligible to supervise associate therapists/interns in California and sign off on clinical documentation? #J-18808-Ljbffr
