Finishing Operator 2nd Shift

Job Description Finishing Operator – 2nd shift This position is responsible for the processing and inspection of castings to ensure they meet or exceed our customer requirements. Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 1:00 am Essential Functions Inspects castings for defects per work instructions, including external defects, excessive core fin or flash, burn‑in sand, high ingate, etc. Operates grinders (hand and pedestal) safely, inspecting equipment for proper adjustment, cracks or chips in the wheel and overall working condition, and reports any problems. Places finished parts in designated shipping containers for shipment as specified by work instructions. Transfers containers and other material using a forklift as needed, in compliance with relevant work instructions. Completes daily inspection checklists when assigned to operate a forklift. Operates weigh scale as required. Operates shakeout, including separating gates, risers, and castings. Maintains a clean and orderly work area. May be assigned other duties as needed. Experience Required Machining experience with milling and turning experience preferred. Previous knowledge of foundry practices, principles, equipment, etc. preferred. Basic knowledge of machining processes preferred. Education, Training & Skills High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred. Basic math and blueprint reading experience preferred. Ability to add, divide, compute averages, and plot data points; use charts to convert decimals and fractions. Basic knowledge of Quality Systems, such as ISO‑9001, preferred.
