Commercial Associate Underwriter (Hybrid or Remote)

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Contribute as a team member and work to the profitability, premium, and profit center goals and objectives.
• Assist Management in special projects, cross functional teams, and department assignments.
• Underwrite insurance applications and other risk documentation. Apply our underwriting requirements, and refer applications or transactions, endorsement requests, or other correspondence for further underwriting analysis when outside of written authority.
  • Assemble information for renewal business and change requests to support underwriter decision making. Provide supporting file documentation.
  • Analyze and validate the information gathered.
  • Apply rules and guidelines, insurance laws, and regulations.
  • May enter policy information on an assigned product, territory and/or agency in accordance with template rules.
  • Ensure accurate policy information on an assigned product, territory and/or agency(ies).
  • Review premium and loss data on an individual account as part of the renewal underwriting process.
• Foster productive relationships with agents, brokers, and customers to obtain information needed to underwrite risks and respond to their needs.
• Provide support to underwriter(s).
  • Organize the underwriting information to expedite decision making on the part of the underwriter.
• Provide information to Policy Services which is needed to issue policies and endorsements within our service standards.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must have an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of related General Liability, Automobile, and Excess/Umbrella experience is preferred but not required.
