About the Position

Job Title: Infusion Therapy Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Infusion Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour days Hours per Shift: Varies, mostly 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday – Friday Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Chemo Certified nurses preferred Description: Registered Nurses will be required to pass a pass/fail exam during orientation. The exam is open book and covers skills learned during the orientation. Candidates must receive a 90% to pass; failing to do so will result in termination. Candidates must live outside a specified radius and cannot be employed full time, part time, or PRN with any other affiliated facility. A driver's license is required and will be used for distance verification. Artificial nails are prohibited in departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to contract termination. The department operates from 8 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Shift start and end times will vary. No call responsibilities are required. The department sees approximately 50 patients daily with a desired staffing of 6-7 RNs on duty. Primary tasks involve the infusion of chemotherapy, antibiotics, blood products, iron, and fluids. In addition, various injections will be administered as needed. Cancellations of shifts can occur as specified by hospital policies. A charting system is utilized for patient documentation.
