Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 4x12.0 hours per week.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The role emphasizes a strong commitment to patient and employee safety, adhering to hospital guidelines and promoting a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure quality outcomes through effective patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and lead patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate pertinent patient status information to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and ensure personal and environmental safety.
• Assist with team building and maintain open communication with management concerning service needs.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested and prioritize activities to meet patient needs.
• Identify and pursue professional development opportunities through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift.
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside critical care clinical experience required.
