Make a significant difference in the lives of students with visual impairments by serving in a dynamic educational setting. In this onsite contract opportunity, you’ll work closely with approximately 20-23 students of varying ages and individual needs. Your expertise and compassion will help empower students to achieve their personal and academic goals throughout the school year.

Qualifications:

• Active North Carolina Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification.
• Experience working with school-aged students with visual impairments.
• Ability to adapt and develop individualized educational strategies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families.
• Flexible and organized to manage diverse caseloads.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, tailoring educational materials to their needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to adapt curriculum and ensure accessibility.
• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, implementing modifications and accommodations as needed.
• Serve as an advocate for students with visual impairments, fostering independence and self-advocacy.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute professional input for student planning.

This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week through May 21, 2027. You will play an integral role within a supportive school environment, positively impacting the educational journey of visually impaired students.
