Electrical Design Engineer

Sr. Manager (HR & Recruiting) at MP Engineers + Architects Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with strong design experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in electrical design for commercial, mixed-use, and high-rise residential building projects , along with project management capabilities to lead and deliver complex engineering projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead electrical engineering design for commercial, high-rise residential, and mixed-use building projects , including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems. Prepare, review, and seal engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver fully coordinated design solutions. Manage projects from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff. Conduct site visits, review submittals, and support construction administration activities. Ensure designs align with sustainability and energy efficiency standards. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred). Professional Engineer (PE) license required . 8+ years of electrical engineering and design experience with a focus on commercial and high-rise building projects . Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and applicable building codes. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software. Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
