Beloit Health System at Beloit Memorial Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Step-Down/Intermediate Care Unit. The Cardiac Step-Down RN provides specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive cardiac care who require close monitoring and advanced clinical assessment. This role collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while promoting positive clinical outcomes.Sign-On Bonus: YesShift: 1st and 3rdSchedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7aHours per week: 30-36 hours per weekBenefits Status: Benefit EligibleDepartment: Cardiac Stepdown Unit/ Intermediate CareIn this position the Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse will plan, coordinate, supervise, and provide care for patients throughout their lifespan withing the framework of well/illness continuum. This includes optimal service in a cost-effective manner. The Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse has additional training to interpret cardiac telemetry monitoring and respond to rapid changes in patient cardiac conditions effectively and accurately.Appropriately assesses basic physical, psychological, and socials needs of the patients and their families.Provides nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions including cardiac rhythm disturbances, Cerebral Vascular Attacks, Peritoneal Dialysis, and other comorbidities.Effectively plans patient care and consistently implements the patient's plan of care.Accurately evaluates patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies.Provides patient/family education appropriately.Strictly adheres to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood born pathogen precautions.Actively participates in Quality Improvement program.Performs unit specific duties according to established unit-based competencies.Completes documentation according to policy.Effectively sets goals and priorities for provision of care to a group of patients according to acuity.Accurately interprets cardiac telemetry every 4 hours and responds to changes in patient condition.Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.Demonstrates ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to position. Other duties as assigned.Job RequirementsGraduate of accredited school of nursing.ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).Must be CPR/BLS certified within 3 months of hire.Must be ACLS certified within 6 months of hireASLS and NIHSS stroke certified within 1 year of hire.Cardiac Telemetry course completion within 6 months of hire.Peritoneal Dialysis training within 1 year.Apply today to join our growing team.
