Radar Firmware EngineerThe team at Eikon Research is seeking a Radar Firmware Engineer. The ideal candidate will be able to take designs/requirements and translate them into clear, well-documented, correct code/designs. A strong understanding of digital design fundamentals, firmware development processing, and parallel processing paradigms is required.The radar firmware engineering space is vast, so not all of these may apply:Support a hybrid work scheduleDevelop, integrate, and test firmware to support radar systems.Typical projects may include:Development of/improvements to radar digital signal processing (DSP) algorithmsIntegration with hardware peripheralsIntegration with computing systems/subsystemsDevelop small software utilities to interface with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGAs. Software may include command-line test tools, benchmarks, or other utilities to assist in testing firmwareDevelop unit and integration tests for new and existing codebasesDevelop detailed documentation for functional handoffParticipate in Agile development practices including daily standups and sprint planning/reviewsUtilize tools such as Git, GitLab, and Jira for code management, issue tracking, Agile planning, and documentationRequirementsCandidate must have bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering-related fieldCandidate must be a U.S. CitizenCandidate must have active DoD Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain DoD Secret ClearanceCandidate must have 5+ years' experience with the following:Xilinx VivadoPractical Linux usageSystemVerilog / Verilog / VHDLCircuit analysis and FPGA integrationVersion Control Experience (Git/GitLab)Ability to work in-office when performing hardware integration and testing in Huntsville, AL is requiredAbility to work in both a group and individual capacityDesired Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesBackground in radar, signal processing, or electrical engineeringExperience with (C / C++, Python)Background experience with Xilinx FPGAs/SOCsEikon Research Inc.
