Field Superintendent - ModernizationYour main responsibilities
The Field Superintendent - Modernization (MOD) manages field technicians in the day-to-day operations of the installation of hydraulic, gearless and geared elevator modernizations. Actively participates in field surveys for prospective modernization projects and is involved in the preparation modernization proposals and bids. Provides technical solutions, ensures workplace safety, determines scope of work and manpower required to complete the project in a timely and profitable manner.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Build a team environment by leading field technicians
* Manage training and development of field technicians on established processes, tools and standards
* Foster excellent communication among team members while maintaining good working relationships with the local union
* Assure that each modernization project meets Company quality and safety standards, as well as all contract requirements
* Monitor job completion and drive efficiency; manage parts ordering and cost
* Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability and passenger safety for modernization projects
* Support the local sales team in estimating modernization bids and investigating and resolving customer complaints
* Develop a spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality among all employees
* Participate in Company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of Elevator Company products, services and procedures
- Bachelor's degree preferred or 3 years of technical experience in the elevator, construction, or related industries.
- Experience leading/supervising and training personnel preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is preferred.
- Solid problem solving and proven negotiating skills, high sense of urgency, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer proficiency required. Experience in Microsoft Office suite software, Lotus Notes and SAP is preferred
- Fully vested 401k match, up to 7% of total eligible compensation.
