Nutrition & Food Service Assistant 2 - Patient Meals Assembly at Wellstar Health System Day shift (United States). Job Summary Primary function involves delivering great customer service, while also accurately and expeditiously completing tasks. Other duties include food and supply preparation, service, re‑stocking and clean‑up. May also be required to work in other areas of the N&FS Department to ensure the successful completion of patient meal service. Primary Focus Patient Meals / Tray Line: Working on a patient tray assembly line, preparing patient meals within the specifications of the diet order and patient preferences. Responsibilities Ensures the safety of customers and team members according to HACCP and county health department guidelines (wash hands, wear gloves, follow infection‑prevention practices, report risks). Maintains all work areas clean and organized; free of spills and fall hazards. Monitors and records food/equipment temperatures; corrects or escalates out‑of‑range occurrences. Stores food/supplies with proper labeling, dating and rotation. Operates equipment safely and escalates any unsafe conditions. Ensures positive service outcomes: follows schedule, arrives on time, sets up workstation, follows instructions, completes checklists, operates equipment as per guidelines. Remains flexible to support other team members across the department. Creates a world‑class work environment: follows uniform specifications, collaborates, communicates respectfully and in a clear, concise manner. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all WellStar Health System policies. Qualifications Required minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Required minimum experience: one year of retail experience with customer interaction; cashiering preferred; hospital food‑service and customer service experience highly preferred. Required minimum skills: ability to communicate and understand verbal and written English, basic math, and operate a computer register.
