Company Description The River IOP is an intensive outpatient program dedicated to supporting adults ages 18+ who are exploring their relationship with drugs and alcohol and seeking meaningful, sustainable recovery. The program integrates life-skills development with therapeutic support to help participants build balanced, healthy lives. Role Description The Mental Health Therapist at The River IOP will provide individual, group, and family therapy to adults participating in an intensive outpatient program focused on substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. This full‑time, on‑site role in Elyria, OH involves conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team. The therapist will facilitate evidence‑based group and individual sessions, support clients in developing coping skills and relapse prevention strategies, and engage families or significant others in the recovery process where appropriate. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, collaborating in case reviews, participating in staff meetings and clinical supervisions, and contributing to a therapeutic environment that is trauma‑informed, person‑centered, and culturally responsive. The therapist will also help connect clients with community resources and support their transition between levels of care. Qualifications Strong skills in Treatment Planning and Mental Health assessment, including the ability to develop individualized, goal‑focused plans and adjust them as clients progress. Demonstrated experience working with substance use disorders, co‑occurring conditions, and group therapy in an intensive outpatient or similar setting. Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field; active and good‑standing licensure (e.g., LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, MFT, IMFT) in the state of Ohio or eligibility to obtain it. Ability to maintain clear, accurate clinical documentation and manage a structured caseload while meeting regulatory and ethical standards. Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis‑intervention skills, with a commitment to trauma‑informed, culturally sensitive, and gender‑responsive care.
