Expected salary range of $157,500 to $175,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k). Primary Purpose Of Position Constellation is a leading voice on many complex clean energy policies at the state and local level and must build support and momentum for company priorities. This position will be responsible for devising and executing proactive, externally focused communications strategies to build and maintain relationships with key NGOs, trade associations, think-tanks and energy and consumer influencers. A priority focus will be organizing and coordinating coalitions designed to influence assigned state (primarily California and Texas) policies and federal policies related to low and zero - emissions energy and understanding the political and policy pressure points and encouragement to advance reliable energy policies. Stakeholder management will be a key aspect of the role, including identifying and working with key online influencers, and building and managing databases of supporters and activists. This role also leads the execution of Constellation's digital education and call-to-action campaigns (online petitions, calls and letters to policymakers, etc.) to build momentum and galvanize support for key policy and business priorities. The position will report to the Vice President of Strategic Communication and Public Advocacy and advise Government Affairs & Public Policy, and work collaboratively with Communications, the Generation and Commercial businesses, Marketing, Brand and Reputation, Investor Relations, Legal, and other Constellation organizations, as well as contracted lobbyists and contractors. Primary Duties And Accountabilities Create and execute strategic communications plans in support of key state and federal public policy objectives, including thought leadership plans for relevant executives. Build and maintain grassroots coalitions. Develop and maintain relationships with key thought leaders, influencers, NGOs and allied advocacy groups. Influence policymakers on key regulatory and legislative priorities through public advocacy and activations. Manage agency contracts and relationships to build modern, state-of-the-art digital campaigns and develop messaging documents for public policy priorities and stakeholder activation initiatives, including fact sheets, FAQs, mailers, digital ads, and other collateral. Monitor emerging issues from the federal and state executive branches and in legislatures. Provide strategic recommendations to advance support for business and policy priorities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree 8-years experience in political/policy communications, journalism, public relations or related experience Excellent writer and cogent thinker Familiarity with digital campaigning and social media campaigning Demonstrated talent for strategic problem-solving and with a bias for action Demonstrated organizational and project management skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with organizing and coordinating coalitions designed to influence policies related to low and zero - emissions energy, particularly within California and/or Texas Experience gained from a political campaign, advocacy group, think tank, journalism, Congressional office or similar organization.
