Sarahs Pet Sitting is one of Central Connecticuts most established and trusted pet care companies proudly serving local families since 2008.
While we may not always be actively hiring in every area year-round were always interested in connecting with dependable compassionate animal lovers for future opportunities throughout the Hamden and North Haven areas.
This is a flexible part-time opportunity ideal for people who enjoy working independently staying active and building meaningful relationships with pets and clients throughout their local community.
Many of our team members are teachers retirees veterinary professionals remote workers parents with daytime flexibility or animal lovers looking for rewarding supplemental income close to home.

Compensation
Compensation is structured per visit with many team members earning approximately $1825 per hour of active scheduled time depending on route density availability tips and holiday coverage.
What The Role Looks Like
As a professional pet sitter and dog walker youll visit clients homes throughout the Hamden and North Haven areas to provide dependable care for dogs cats and small pets. Visits may include:
- Dog walking
- Feeding and fresh water
- Litter box cleaning
- Medications
- Playtime and companionship
- Detailed visit updates for clients
Most visits are scheduled within a short driving radius of your home to help keep routes efficient and manageable.
Important Availability Expectations
Because many of our clients travel or work long hours applicants should have consistent availability during some mornings evenings weekends and holidays throughout the year.
Early morning availability is a major plus.

Basic Requirements
- Must be 18 years old
- Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle required
- Smartphone required
- Ability to safely enter and secure client homes
- Comfortable using scheduling and communication apps
- Professional animal experience is helpful but not required we will train the right person
