Job Summary:

The Laboratory Assistant-Certified plays a vital role in supporting the clinical laboratory operations by performing phlebotomy and specimen processing tasks. Under supervision, they assist Laboratory Scientists to ensure accurate testing and maintain a clean, organized environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform all aspects of venipuncture, heel-sticks, and finger-sticks with proper aseptic technique.
  
  
• 
  Handle specimen collection, labeling, and processing accurately and efficiently.
  
  
• 
  Maintain laboratory paperwork, including patient requisitions, reference lab requests, and documentation of special circumstances.
  
  
• 
  Monitor temperature and prepare monthly records for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
  
  
• 
  Assist in maintaining a well-stocked, clean, and safe laboratory environment to facilitate smooth lab workflow.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold CPT-1 or CPT-2 certification.
  
  
• 
  Obtain American Heart Association BLS certification.
  
  
• 
  Possess a high school diploma.
  
  
• 
  Bring at least one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate excellent communication, attention to detail, and time management skills.
