Cardiac Cath Holding RN - Impactful Care, Flexible Shifts

Location Norfolk, VA Work Shift Multiple shifts available. Day shift is 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Cath Holding Department Overview The unit is open Monday–Friday 6 a.m. – 11 p.m., closed on major holidays. The 30‑bed unit prepares and recovers patients for procedures in the Cath lab, EP lab, Minor Procedure Room, and Cardiac OR for surgery. The average patient volume each day is approximately 40–50 patients. The types of procedures include, but are not limited to, cardiac catheterization (interventional and diagnostic), electrophysiology procedures such as ablations, cardioversions, surgeries, and ICD/Pacemaker placements. Registered Nurse Responsibilities The RN is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation). The standards of professional performance include ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
