Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for an Adult ICU position requiring 6 months to 1 year of ICU experience and Texas RCP licensure.

Details

• Work in the Adult Respiratory Therapy department within a multi-unit hospital system including CVICU, NCCU, LRICU (ECMO), MICU, MSICU, and 2South ICU
• Units range from 12 to 34 beds, plus an Adult ED with approximately 50 beds and numerous additional floor units totaling 300+ beds
• Patient ratios average 30-45 units of therapy per shift
• Uses GE Carescape R860, Covidien PB980, and Avea ventilators, V60 noninvasive ventilation, Vapotherm, Blender HFNC, Vest CPT, MetaNeb, Cough Assist, and Percussor CPT equipment
• EMR system is Meditech
• Shift hours are 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Weekend requirement of at least 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Voluntary floating to pediatrics available

Requirements

• Current CRT or RRT credential
• Texas RCP license required (license required if applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 6 months to 1 year of ICU experience required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform nebulizer therapy, airway clearance, BiPAP, ventilator management, HFNC, bronch assist, and ABG procedures
• Work as part of a team of 14-16 respiratory staff per shift across multiple ICU and floor units
• Best suited for team players who are flexible and able to work well with others
• Scrub attire is olive/sage scrub top with black scrub bottom, or all black if olive/sage is unavailable
• First-time travelers may be considered based on experience
• Local candidates are not accepted and a 50-mile radius rule applies
