Construction Quality Director - Sports/Stadium Full-time State/Province: Ohio Business Group: CM Legal Entity: Hunt Construction Group Business Line: CM Construction Management Work Location Model: On-Site Operating Group: CM Primary Location: US - Cleveland, OH - 1300 East 9th S Compensation: USD 130,300.15 - USD 241,055.29 - yearly The AECOM Hunt has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Quality Director for our ground-up construction project in Cleveland, OH. Responsibilities Provide continuous, prioritized training, mentoring, and quality oversight as directed by the QA/QC Vice President. Participate in submittal and shop drawing reviews, initial trade pre‑construction meetings, trade pre‑installation meetings, frequent job site walkthroughs, and reporting. Oversee construction quality throughout the entire process until completion. Develop and facilitate quality training sessions and educational programs. Lead job site pre‑installation meetings, ensuring teams possess the necessary competency with processes. Demonstrate leadership in the field of quality and throughout the industry. Manage subcontractor quality plans, performing reviews and providing detailed analysis and feedback. Collaborate with trade contractors to create improved plans for specific tasks. Research building materials, ensure material compliance, and suggest or incorporate changes when necessary. Assist in producing quality presentations for staff and external architects and engineers. Develop practical quality education opportunities for employees as required. Provide technical advice to field and office personnel and keep accurate records of conversations. Serve as a resource to project teams to identify potential quality issues and devise remediation strategies. Assist in the development and enforcement of constructability reports. Establish and maintain processes to achieve full participation in the corporate Quality Management Program. Maintain the Quality Program, moving systems and processes forward based on company protocols, policies, and industry trends. Maintain and update revisions of the Quality Program and associated policies and manual. Analyze and issue summaries of overall loss analysis, trending reports, and quality metrics. Coordinate and establish budgets for the Quality Department as needed. Produce quality bulletins based on lessons learned in collaboration with the QA/QC Vice President. Collaborate with the Project Team to develop job‑specific quality procedures with assistance from the Quality Department. Maintain a strong understanding of various construction types and science concepts. Work with project managers to assist in developing scopes of work. Review field work, reporting, and photographing work in place with the project team. Create accurate reporting job site walkthroughs, providing directions and suggestions to correct work‑in‑place. Assist in Trade Contractor Job Specific Quality Plan reviews and maintain relationships with Trade Contractor Quality personnel. Collaborate with the Project Teams to ensure excellent customer service through quality procedures built upon continuous improvement and awareness of essential customer needs. Qualifications BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related curriculum and 10 years of professional Construction Quality Management experience (or equivalent educational/experiential equivalence), including 2 years of leadership. Valid driver’s license to operate an AECOM‑provided motor vehicle on construction project site(s) to support project tasks, assignments, and scope of work. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of ASTM standards and construction testing procedures. Knowledge of multiple building codes, requirements, and related regulations. Experience across all construction‑related trades, including building envelopes, life safety, interiors, and MEP/FP. Experience in large, ground‑up construction projects in sports, stadium, or arena settings. 10 years of Construction Quality Management experience. Physical Demands The following physical demands represent those typically required of individuals working in construction field roles, with or without accommodation. Construction field positions require physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis. Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job‑related hazards is common, with or without accommodation. These environments may include proximity to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the phase of construction. Employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and must remain alert to ensure safety. Additional duties may be assigned as needed based on the scope and progress of the project. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future. Some travel is required for this position.
