Welch Community Hospital - McDowell County, WV Registered Nurse (RN) – Mandatory overtime required. Provide high‑quality nursing care to patients and residents in psychiatric/behavioral health and long‑term care settings. Responsibilities Administer top‑quality nursing care to patients and residents, ensuring the highest standards of practice. Conduct intake assessments, administer first aid and medications, and perform health screenings. Assist in developing and evaluating individualized care plans tailored to each patient. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date health records, documenting changes in condition and treatments provided. Collaborate closely with physicians, supervisors, and other healthcare staff to coordinate and implement effective patient care. Provide guidance and direction to LPNs, CNAs, and other staff members; participate in orientation and training of new staff. Enter patient information into electronic systems, ensure adherence to healthcare policies and regulations, and communicate urgent medical needs to relevant personnel. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring clear communication of patient care plans. Qualifications Education: None. Licensure/Certifications: Current West Virginia license or temporary permit to practice as a registered nurse. Experience: None. Background Check: Applicant must successfully complete a criminal background check. Drug Screening: Chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening; subject to drug testing for probable cause per agency and bureau policies. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of the position.
