CNC Machinist
Shift: 2nd/ 3rd Shift
Summary
We are seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machining centers used in the production of shelter components. This role is responsible for producing high-quality parts while following blueprints, work instructions, and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers including HAAS, FADAL, and MATSUURA machines
- Read and follow blueprints, routings, and work instructions
- Perform machining operations including milling, drilling, boring, tapping, threading, reaming, chamfering, and deburring
- Inspect parts using measuring and inspection equipment to ensure quality standards are met
- Assist with building and repairing fixtures, jigs, tooling, and shop aids
- Produce parts for production, prototypes, and maintenance projects
- Load and unload materials and finished parts
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience
- Experience setting up and operating CNC vertical milling machines
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
- Basic shop math skills, including fractions and decimals
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- NIMS CNC Mill Setup and Operations Certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with machine noise
- Ability to safely work around machinery and industrial equipment
