We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient rheumatology infusion team. We are open to full-time or part-time candidates and can discuss scheduling options based on experience and availability.

This position is ideal for an RN who has excellent IV skills, is confident working independently, and enjoys developing relationships with patients receiving ongoing infusion therapy.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer IV biologic and other infusion therapies according to provider orders and established protocols.
• Perform peripheral IV placement and maintain strong first-stick proficiency across a varied patient population.
• Review treatment orders, diagnoses, laboratory results, medications, allergies, and required clinical parameters prior to treatment.
• Complete pre-infusion assessments, including vital signs and appropriate patient screening.
• Prepare and administer medications accurately according to manufacturer recommendations and practice protocols.
• Calculate and verify medication doses, infusion rates, and required treatment parameters.
• Monitor patients throughout treatment and appropriately recognize and respond to infusion reactions, adverse events, and changes in clinical status.
• Administer prescribed injections as needed.
• Maintain emergency preparedness and follow established protocols for infusion reactions.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment expectations, potential adverse effects, and when to contact the practice.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in eClinicalWorks (eCW).
• Ensure required laboratory testing, authorizations, orders, and other treatment requirements are complete before administration.
• Maintain appropriate medication storage, handling, inventory, and infection-control practices.
• Coordinate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacy/medication staff, and the broader clinical team.
• Maintain a clean, organized, appropriately stocked, and patient-friendly infusion environment.
• Proactively identify potential scheduling, medication, order, or patient-care issues and communicate them before they disrupt treatment.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is an experienced RN who is:

• Highly proficient and confident with peripheral IV starts.
• Experienced with IV infusions; biologic or specialty infusion experience is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable independently managing multiple infusion patients while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety.
• Able to recognize and appropriately respond to infusion reactions and other clinical concerns.
• Organized and able to anticipate what is needed for upcoming infusion patients.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to continuity of patient care.
• Proactive and willing to take ownership rather than waiting for each task to be assigned.
• Comfortable communicating directly with providers regarding clinical concerns.
• Compassionate and personable with patients receiving recurring treatments.
• Able to work collaboratively in a busy specialty practice.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Strong peripheral IV insertion skills required.
• Prior infusion experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with biologic medications, rheumatology, gastroenterology, oncology, or another infusion-based specialty is a plus.
• eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience preferred.
• Strong medication-safety, documentation, organizational, and communication skills.

SCHEDULE: Full-Time or Part-Time
