Business Development Representative

The Role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Launch and grow an outbound prospecting function as an early member of the sales team. Reach senior finance decision makers through calls and email, test different approaches, and hand qualified opportunities to closers while shaping the team's playbook.

What You'll Do

• Make cold calls and send outbound emails to book meetings with senior finance leaders.
• Design the outbound playbook from scratch by testing channels and messaging, then documenting what works for future hires.
• Research and prioritize target accounts using clear targeting criteria rather than simple lists.
• Work closely with Account Executives to turn outreach into qualified pipeline.
• Share market feedback such as objections, competitor mentions and pain points to inform positioning and strategy.

What We're Looking For

• 0 to 1 year of sales or outbound experience; new graduates and career changers are welcome.
• A background in a high-intensity environment such as a startup, investment banking or private equity, door-to-door sales or competitive athletics.
• Participation in business clubs, consulting clubs, student athletics or similar competitive programs.
• A bachelor's degree from a four-year university.
• A self-directed mindset and comfort building a process without an existing playbook.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to handle pushback and think on your feet.
• Based in or willing to relocate to New York City, with full in-person attendance five days a week.
