This non-clinical support allows dentists to spend more time and attention on patient care rather than burdensome administrative functions. Affiliated dentists benefit from professionally managed non-clinical support services such as human resources, payor relations, group purchasing, vendor management, capital investments, staff management, recruiting, finance, marketing, and information systems. The Billing Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely insurance claim submission and patient statement processing, supporting efficient revenue cycle operations while maintaining excellent service to patients, providers, and practices. Job Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit dental insurance claims (electronic and paper) in a timely and accurate manner. Verify patient and insurance information to ensure clean claim submission. Generate and distribute patient statements in alignment with billing cycles and office protocols. Review patient accounts for accuracy prior to statement release, including insurance payments, adjustments, and balances. Communicate with internal teams (Insurance Verification, Payment Posting, and AR) to resolve billing discrepancies. Maintain compliance with HIPAA and dental billing regulations. Provide timely and professional support to practices, patients, and insurance inquiries related to billing and statements. Support process improvements to reduce claim errors, minimize delays in reimbursement, and improve cash flow. Maintain accurate documentation of billing activity and account updates. Requirements Minimum 1 year of dental billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle experience. Strong understanding of dental insurance billing, claims processing, and payment posting. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Expectations and Performance Timely and accurate claim submission with minimal errors or rework. Reduction in claim denials and rejections through quality billing practices. Clear and concise A/R follow up and reporting. Accurate and timely patient statement processing. Clear and consistent communication with internal teams and practices. Contribution to reduced AR aging related to billing errors. Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly productivity expectations.
