Tech Lead Manager

As a full-time Tech Lead Manager, the candidate will be responsible for solving complex problems in payroll systems, managing a team, and collaborating closely with product and operations to drive workflow improvements, all while working remotely or in-office in New York City or San Francisco. Key responsibilities Scale systems for payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as complexity increases Design services for money movement and reconciliation, ensuring clarity for partners Support new businesses in migrating large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure Required qualifications 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end 1-2 years of experience in leading or managing a team Hands-on experience with a desire to continue building alongside the team Proven track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring engineers Familiarity or willingness to learn Python/Django, React, Typescript, AWS, Terraform, Postgres, and Temporal
