Behavioral Health CounselorSupports and enhances student behavioral health through delivery of counseling and outreach servicesEssential Job FunctionsProvides individual and group counseling for students to encourage personal, emotional, and social growth to comply with professional standards, keeping accurate records of the services providedConducts assessments, referrals, and consultations to support students with behavioral health needs (e.g., mental health, alcohol and other drug issues)Provides crisis intervention and on-call consultation, as needed, to manage behavioral health emergencies and sexual assaultsDevelops outreach programming to educate the student body on behavioral health and other topics (e.g., sexual assault awareness, drug prevention, etc.) and enrich the campus lifeProvides consultation to faculty, staff and parents on behavioral health issues affecting studentsPerforms other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsMinimum of a master's degreeModerate amount of experience working in a clinical setting, crisis intervention, working with diverse student populations, or other related experienceClinical license in the state of Rhode IslandPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in master's level clinical discipline (e.g., psychology, counseling, social work, etc.)Qualified candidates must live or relocate to live within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until job posting is closed.Johnson & Wales University is an equal opportunity employer.
