Interoperability Test Engineer

Our client, a leader in healthcare technology solutions, is seeking a dedicated Interoperability Test Engineer to join their team. As an Interoperability Test Engineer, you will be part of the Quality Assurance Department supporting the Medical Device Systems team.

Location: Round Lake, IL 60073 – ONSITE ROLE

Duration: 5 months with the possibility of extension/conversion

W2 role- No C2C/No 3rd Party

What's the Job?

• Execute predefined interoperability test cases across medical device systems, interfaces, and integration platforms.
• Validate data exchange workflows for accuracy, completeness, and reliability, ensuring compliance with healthcare interoperability standards.
• Record test results, capture logs, and document defects with clear reproducibility steps to support quality assurance efforts.
• Perform testing aligned with standards such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE profiles, verifying message structure, data mapping, and transaction workflows.
• Identify, isolate, and document defects related to interoperability, data integrity, and system integration, supporting root cause analysis and regression testing cycles.

What's Needed?

• Experience executing interoperability test cases within a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE profiles.
• Ability to configure and utilize test tools, simulators, and mock systems to emulate interoperability scenarios.
• Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate test records and support audit readiness.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on defect identification and resolution.
