PLEASE APPLY DIRECTLY THROUGH OUR INTERNAL WORKDAY CAREER SITE \n \n \n Join Our Community of Food People! \n BASIC PURPOSE \n \nTo provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.\n \n \n Tool allowance included to support your trade. \n \n Our Diesel Mechanics start at $35.00 to $37.96 hour depending on experience! \n \n \n 401K with 2% automatic company contribution plus company match up to an additional 6%. \n Medical Benefits Start Day One! \n Low-cost Medical, Dental, and Vision for Family Coverage. \n Paid vacation time, sick, and personal time. \n Employee uniforms provided. \n Strong Safety Culture, newer equipment, and excellent local leadership. \n \n \n ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES \n \n Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.). \n Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards. \n Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action. \n Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines. \n Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used. \n Backup to other maintenance shop personnel. \n Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certificates. \n Other duties as assigned by manager. \n \n \n SUPERVISION : \n \n N/A \n \n \n RELATIONSHIPS \n \n Internal: All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators and Manager \n External: Vendor service providers when required \n \n \n WORK ENVIRONMENT \n \n Onsite : The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility. \n Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. \n \n \n MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS \n \n Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic. \n Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs. \n Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills. \n Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program. \n Must furnish own personal hand tools. \n Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide). \n \n \n EDUCATION \n \n High school diploma or equivalent required. \n \n \n CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING \n \n N/A \n \n \n LICENSES \n \n Must possess a valid driver's license. \n \n \n PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \n \n Valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification \n Experience using fleet maintenance software \n Welding ability \n \n \n PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS \n \n OCCASIONALLY: 1% - 33 / FREQUENTLY: 34% - 66% / CONTINUOUSLY: 67% - 100% or NEVER \n \n JOB REQUIRES WORKER TO: \n FREQUENCY: \n STAND: CONTINUOUSLY \n WALK: CONTINUOUSLY \n DRIVE VEHICLE: FREQUENTLY \n SIT: FREQUENTLY \n \n LIFT \n 1-10 lbs (Sedentary): FREQUENTLY \n 11-20 lbs (Light): FREQUENTLY \n 21-50 lbs (Medium): FREQUENTLY \n 51-100 lbs (Heavy): FREQUENTLY \n Over 100 lbs (Very Heavy): OCCASIONALLY \n \n CARRY \n 1-10 lbs (Sedentary): FREQUENTLY \n 11-20 lbs (Light): FREQUENTLY \n 21-50 lbs (Medium): FREQUENTLY \n 51-100 lbs (Heavy): OCCASIONALLY \n Over 100 lbs (Very Heavy): OCCASIONALLY \n \n PUSH/PULL 1: FREQUENTLY \n CLIMB/BALANCE 2: FREQUENTLY \n STOOP/SQUAT: FREQUENTLY \n KNEEL: FREQUENTLY \n BEND: FREQUENTLY \n REACH ABOVE SHOULDER: FREQUENTLY \n TWIST: FREQUENTLY \n GRASP OBJECTS 3: FREQUENTLY \n MANIPULATE OBJECTS 4: FREQUENTLY \n MANUAL DEXTERITY 5: FREQUENTLY \n \n 1 (Push/Pull: Hand truck, gate, straps, metal ramp, truck door, dolly, boxes, truck gear shift) \n 2 (Climb/Balance: In/Out Truck/Trailer to cab. Stairs) \n 3 (Grasp Objects: Hand truck, boxes, cartons, steering wheel) \n 4 (Manipulate Objects: Boxes, dolly, metal truck ramp, hand truck, paperwork, truck gate, straps) \n 5 (Manual Dexterity: Typing, use of office machines such as copiers, printers) \n \n Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds).
