Job Description The contingent worker will be working under the supervision of Oncology In Vivo Pharmacologists and will be required to adhere to the relevant established Animal Use Protocols and SOPs for PDX work at Pharmaceutical. Scope of work The contingent worker will be responsible for mouse cancer model development. This work will primarily be the establishment and maintenance of patient-derived cancer xenografts but could also include development of cell line xenografts. This work requires sterile technique and attention to detail. Work is conducted both in an animal facility (vivarium) as well as in biosafety cabinets (laminar flow hoods). The worker will also be required to participate in all of the preparation steps necessary for animal studies: surgical tool preparation, tool sterilization, and animal shaving and preparation. Required skills / background - The worker should have a minimum 1-3 years experience working with mice, preferably immune deficient mice. The workers should also have experience in small animal surgery and sterile techniques. The workers should preferably have knowledge of cancer research experimental designs and methods. Experience with dosing mice would be useful but is not a strict requirement.
