Sacred Circle Healthcare is seeking a full-time Health Transporter for our Wendover, Utah location.

Job Summary

Overview:

This position is responsible for coordinating and providing medical transportation services. This includes but is not limited to transporting patients to and from multiple SCHC clinics, reviewing transportation applications, transportation requests, scheduling for Sacred Circle Healthcare and other 3rd party transportation vendors like Uber Health. These services will only be provided for non-emergency medical transportation within a 15-mile radius. This position not only requires future transportation coordination but real-time vehicle/driving tracking and scheduling. Vehicle fleet maintenance coordination will be a large role.

Work Schedule:

To Be Determined with the availability of 7:45 am -8:30 pm Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as needed.

The successful candidate:
  • Coordinates transportation schedule and ensures patients are transported safely to and from the clinic.
  • Coordinates SCHC vehicle maintenance schedules and ensures vehicles are In safe working condition.
  • Coordinates SCHC vehicle safety checks, vehicle refueling and logs, mileage logs.
  • Assists with same day pick up requests, Care coordination involving transportation, and adjusting schedules throughout the day.
  • Dispatches drivers based off distance and real time tracking software.
  • Coordinates and monitors 3rd party transportation.
  • Audits and updates transportation status for patients.
  • Audits patient documents for transportation waivers and communicates with drivers and support staff when they are due for renewal.
  • Processes transportation applications and requests per policy.
  • Communicates transportation status updates to patients and staff, including but not limited to, approvals, denials, suspensions, scheduling, changes, confirmations, In route and at location communication.
  • Tracks and communicates transportation no shows to provider teams and the patient.
  • Logs and communicates all vehicle fuel receipts and vehicle maintenance invoices
  • Assists with transportation text and phone calls.
  • Assists with SCHC vehicle usage requests and logs all vehicle activity.
  • Coordinates transportation schedule and ensures patients are transported safely to and from the clinic or other facilities.
  • Assists the patient safely in and out of the transport vehicle if needed.
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality by following company policy.
  • Treats patients with courtesy and respect.
  • Drives all types of vehicles in different weather conditions.
  • Operates and handles wheelchair van, wheelchair tie down system and assist with wheelchair clients loading and unloading.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to all Sacred Circle Health Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values Statements.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

One (1) year of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a medical office setting.

CERTIFICATION/

LICENSE:

Valid Driver's License

Other:
  • Must be over the age of 25.
  • Subject to random alcohol and drug testing
  • CPR/First Aid Certified or obtain within 30 days.
  • Must have a valid Driver License.
  • Provide current driving record from the DMV.
Preferred Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

One (1) year of experience with security and scheduling or dispatch.

Other:

Experience working with the Native American community.

Experience working in a healthcare setting.
