Description

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT certification for a hospital Radiation Oncology department offering advanced treatment modalities.

Details

• Work in a hospital Radiation Oncology department
• Clinic operates from 6:00a-6:00p with shifts varying within those hours
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Elekta equipment experience preferred
• No call or weekend requirements
• Must be able to work UNC holidays if needed

Requirements

• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy Technologist program
• License required if applicable
• Experience with low and high brachytherapy preferred
• Familiarity with quality assurance procedures, radiation dosages, equipment settings, and protective equipment

Additional Information

• Administer radiation therapy in accordance with physician instructions and patient treatment plans
• Enter data and adjust equipment to regulate radiation dosage
• Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists in preparing treatment plans
• Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians
• Maintain accurate patient and billing records according to department policies
• Perform routine and complex treatments such as total body irradiation and stereotactic radiosurgery
• Prepare equipment and treatment rooms for patients
• Use appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety
• Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines
• Provide clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists
