Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Radiology - Fluoroscopy (AART Certification REQUIRED)

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Radiology-Fluoroscopy This APP role will be in the Department of Radiology, Fluoroscopy section. The main responsibilities include: Acts as a physician (radiologist) extender Patient management Protocols for every order for fluoroscopic exams. This includes calling ordering providers with questions and/or clarifying the request, verifying clinical history, placing a protocol in EPIC for exam type, contrast, and delivery mechanism. Manages the fluoro schedule Ensures safety by checking procedure appropriateness and adherence to protocols Facilitates communication between the patient, radiologist, tech, and patient care team Performing and assisting in procedures Performs general fluoro exams (video swallow studies, barium enemas, cystograms, etc.) Assists the attending physician with complex cases Supports the attending with NJ and GJ tube placements Reads images and provides preliminary reports on fluoro exams Education and quality improvement Provides education on performing fluoro exams to attendings, fellows, residents, and mentors them on execution of exams Develops and updates fluoro protocols Schedule: Shift length: 8 hours, Day shift Straight shifts Currently no holidays, weekends, or call Job Qualifications Master’s degree in related field Registered ARRT (R) Licensed by Ohio Department of Health Fluoroscopy experience preferred Licensure and certification in accordance with CCHMC Delineation of Privileges Job Responsibilities Patient Care - Perform history and physical exams, assess and diagnose illnesses, formulate treatment plans, order and monitor interventions, provide clinical consultation, prescribe medications per law, maintain competency, and adhere to quality standards. Outcomes Identification and Planning - Develop measurable goals, prioritize and evaluate care plans, involve patient/family, consider risk/benefits, incorporate evidence, update documentation. Professional Practice - Maintain professional behaviors, participate in quality improvement, ongoing learning, serve as preceptor/mentor, contribute to professional development, provide leadership, advocate for patients. Care Management - Promote self-management, family-centered care, maintain competency, lead care management, delegate monitoring, provide consultation, order treatments, provide results and counseling. Evaluation - Use systematic evaluation of data and outcomes, revise plans, assess accuracy, involve stakeholders, document evaluations, guide process or structural changes. Scope for subspecialty role will not exceed the scope of the collaborating or supervising MD.
