Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Tacoma, WA | Acute Care / Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM | Every-other weekend required | Occasional holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 125–140 patients per day across 33 beds and 2 trauma bays
• Manage a patient ratio of 3–4:1, caring for patients presenting with emergency conditions such as stroke, STEMI, trauma, and ACS
• Perform lab draws and utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient management
• Operate within a unit supported by ED Technicians, 24/7 charge nurses, 24/7 security, 24/7 IV team, and 24/7 respiratory therapy
• Care for patients in a unit equipped with ventilators, 5 psych/seclusion rooms, and coverage from both ED physicians and mid-level providers
• Maintain compliance with required dress code: navy blue scrubs (top and bottom)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Required certifications: TNCC, PALS, ACLS, and BLS
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Candidates must not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI and/or Dignity) within the past year

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-acuity emergency department environment
• Familiarity with trauma, stroke, STEMI, and ACS patient populations
• Experience working with ventilated patients in an ED setting
